The Agents Union

Member Rules

Membership of The Agents Union means carrying the union's name - and the standard that comes with it. These rules exist so that every player, club, and colleague who deals with a TAU agent knows what they can expect: integrity, professionalism, and full compliance with the regulations that govern our profession.

The rules below are principles, not fine print. They sit on top of the FIFA Football Agent Regulations, which every member is bound by - and breaking them has consequences, up to suspension of the membership.

What these rules are

  1. These Member Rules apply to every member of The Agents Union (TAU), in every market and every role.

  2. By accepting membership, you accept these principles. They describe the standard every TAU agent stands for.

Professional conduct

  1. TAU agents act honestly, transparently, and in the best interest of the players and clients they represent.

  2. Agreements are clear and in writing - scope, duration, and terms are understood by the client before any work begins.

  3. The representation of minors follows the applicable FIFA and national rules without exception.

  4. Client information is treated confidentially, during and after the relationship.

Ethics and integrity

  1. Zero tolerance for bribery, corruption, and match manipulation.

  2. Conflicts of interest are disclosed openly to the parties affected.

  3. Everyone in the game - players, clubs, officials, and fellow agents - is treated with respect, regardless of gender, nationality, culture, religion, or background.

Licences and FIFA regulations

  1. TAU agents hold a valid football agent licence and comply with the FIFA Football Agent Regulations and the rules of the national associations they operate under.

  2. A member whose licence is suspended or revoked informs the TAU Board without delay.

Representing The Agents Union

  1. As a member, you carry the name of The Agents Union - your conduct reflects on every other member.

  2. TAU agents represent the union’s values in their daily work: integrity, solidarity, growth, and inclusion.

  3. Solidarity is the foundation of the union - members support each other, share knowledge in good faith, and treat each other as colleagues, not just competitors.

  4. The TAU name and logo are used commercially only with the Board’s permission.

If the rules are broken

  1. Suspected breaches are handled confidentially by the TAU Board, and no decision is made without the member being heard.

  2. Depending on the severity, the Board may issue a warning, suspend the membership, or - in serious or repeated cases - end it.

  3. Loss of the agent licence, or a proven breach of the FIFA Football Agent Regulations, leads to suspension of the TAU membership while the matter is reviewed.
